rough Chrysalis Editorial, we’ve been helping people transform their writing and achieve their writing goals since 2007.
What makes us different? With many companies you won't have the chance to communicate directly with the person who reviews your manuscript. Chrysalis Editorial gives you the opportunity to work one-on-one, and no matter what your project, it is given thorough, individual attention. The comments you receive are specific to your piece alone, and we're available to respond to your questions and concerns. We'll work with you in whatever way suits you best: in person, by phone, email, or online. Our clients have to come to us from all over the country and even around the world!

What clients are saying about working with Chrysalis Editorial
I am in the process of writing a book and have had the good fortune of engaging the services of Herta Feely - author, essayist, and editor.  Within a two-month period Herta pored over the 75,000 words that I sent her and provided a lessor in writing that hitherto I haven't encountered in formal education, from Catholic grammar school or doctoral studies in NYU.  Never shying away from criticism or praise, Herta provided a nuanced study of my work.  As a result, a much greater degree of clarity has replaced confusion and I am completing my work with new enthusiasm.

Herta Feely and Chrysalis Editorial have been absolutely dedicated and professional in helping me improve my manuscript. Their instincts and hard work have proved invaluable as I move forward in bringing my next novel to the marketplace.

Author, Blood Alley,  Miami Twilight,
The Serpent Club, and Bright Morning Star

Herta knows the business. She’s a highly skilled writer and editor. She helped me find my “voice” and honed my work until it was accepted for publication!
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   - Tobias Lanz, Author,
The Life and Fate of the Indian Tiger

Herta Feely is a pleasure to work with. She helped me compose a query letter that caught the eye of two New York City editors, both of whom asked to see my manuscript. She has a firm but gentle hand, and better yet, she has compassion for writer anxiety and can adjust her tone accordingly. I am extremely grateful to Herta. She has an astute eye for both macro and micro-editing, and I have been very pleased with the suggestions she has given me. I can’t imagine getting as far as I have without her help. Thank you Herta! I’m sure I’ll be back for more help soon enough.

All That You Can Leave Behind

We cannot find enough superlatives to describe Chrysalis Editorial.  It is a tribute to Herta Feely and Emily Williamson that they were willing to take on a 525-page manuscript that involved a vast array of editorial challenges. The scope of our book, From Everest to the Moon: The Garuda Project, reaches from its inception as a high school STEM project in drone design, to its fruition in Nepal, where U.S. and Nepalese students collaborated to test-fly a series of experimental disaster response drones at Mount Everest, and to develop payloads for the first, commercial robotic mission to the lunar surface. Chrysalis Editorial took the time and care needed to hone the manuscript into publishable shape. The result of Herta and Emily's work is a superbly crafted story of seemingly insuperable obstacles overcome by young people relentlessly pursuing their dreams.
