Marian Wernicke, editor of Hurricane Review and I have embarked on producing an anthology of fiction and non-fiction stories, titled Confessions: Fact or Fiction? This was spurred by an interest in the increasingly blurred lines between fiction and non-fiction. Dialogue and even people are fabricated in memoir and non-fiction, and fiction is often based on facts and events in people's lives? The blurring goes beyond that, of course. The reader will not know which stories are fact or fiction unless they turn to the back of the book where the pieces will be identified.
We are accepting short pieces (less than 4,000 words)–either fiction or non-fiction, but the piece must be believable as BOTH. Please e-mail a double-spaced word document as an attachment (with Confessions in the subject line) to:
Confessions Editors
Please be sure to include an author bio, writing credits, and a brief description of the work, particularly whether it is fiction or non-fiction. Without this information and without proper formatting, the work will not be considered. Thank you.
At this time, payment will at least include copies of the book (as well as, of course, free marketing and publicity for your work).
